Amazon doesn't report its warehouse injury rates -- but we have an inside look
AMZN (Amazon.com Inc.) | PBS
Black Friday, two days away, kicks off the peak of shopping season, and especially for Amazon. In fact, the retail giant announced that it will hire 200,000 people for the holiday shopping season, double the number of workers it hired a year ago. But many Amazon staffers say the demand for greater speed is the leading factor harming warehouse workers. Like many other companies, Amazon doesn't make its workplace injury rates public. But Search Will Evans of Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting was able to compile injury records from Amazon work sites across the country for the first time, and has some sobering findings.

What Does GM Want From Fiat Chrysler?
FCAU (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.) | Jalopnik Last week, GM sued Fiat Chrysler, arguing that corrupt union bargaining had forced GM to pay its workers more than FCA does, and put it at a competitive disadvantage. The timing of the suit was a surprise, but GM said it was running up against a statute of limitations. This case is about an Italian company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (“FCA NV”), which managed to win the support of the U.S. government in obtaining operational control, for no cash, over an iconic U.S. auto company, Chrysler GroupLLC. Even if GM can show that wrongdoing by Fiat Chrysler officials hurt its business, it will be difficult to prove that GM was the primary victim, he said. GM doth protest too much, in other words, as the Groupe PSA-FCA merger could make FCA stronger than ever and, of course, a bigger threat to GM than ever. http://bit.ly/2qRm6MD ">Read More
