Netflix reveals how it classifies viewers to track show performance
NFLX (Netflix Inc.) | Slash Gear
Netflix has detailed how it evaluates the performance of TV shows and movies based on how long the content is watched and, in the case of TV shows, how many episodes are streamed. According to the letter, Netflix splits content up into three categories. In the newly published letter, the public has learned how Netflix evaluates a show or movie’s performance in order to share that information with its partners. The third category is called ‘completers,’ which refers to households that watch 90-percent of a movie or TV show season. These metrics are used in North America and Europe, according to the letter; Netflix states it may share these details with partners in other countries.

The company’s recent struggles with gross profit margin should be something that investors may want to closely monitor this time around as it can indicate whether or not Tesla can reach the economies of scale it thought it could achieve by slashing the Model 3’s price. However, Tesla has become almost synonymous with the electric vehicle, which has caused bullish investors to drive the stock higher and making Tesla a company that continues to be difficult to gauge.

$260 million deal averts 1st federal trial on opioid crisis
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.) | PBS
Israeli-based drugmaker Teva would contribute $20 million in cash and $25 million worth of Suboxone, a drug used to treat opioid addiction. Separately, the small distributor Henry Schein also announced Monday that it is settling with Summit County for $1.25 million. In a statement, the three major distributors said the settlement money should be used in a focused way on such things as treatment, rehab and mental health services. Industry CEOs and attorneys general from four states met Friday in Cleveland, where the offer on the table was a deal worth potentially $48 billion in cash and drugs to settle cases nationally. Johnson & Johnson: Yield Still Not Worth The Legal Risk
JNJ (Johnson & Johnson) | Seeking Alpha
As Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) continues to face escalating legal risks, the healthcare company reported sub-par Q3 results promoted as a big earnings beat. As my investment thesis highlighted in July, the stock still isn't worth the legal risk with a minimal 2.8% dividend yield and billions in potential liabilities. The issue here is the risk in the stock due to legal risks related to lawsuits from talcum powder, opioids, Risperdal and others. The problem with the stock is that investors appear unfazed by the legal risk, and even some analysts are far mispricing the potential liabilities. Large cash payouts to settle opioid and talc powder lawsuits would place the company farther into a negative debt position.
